Welcome! In this post I will show you the basics about Microsoft Word.
MS Word is a text processor , used to easily edit your text, format in any way you like, change colors,
insert pictures , insert tables, copy whole page etc. and all of that with high speed.
Imagine if you had to do all of above manually :)
Let's start from the beginning, first of all you need to have MS Office installed on your PC.
When done with installation , launch the program called Microsoft Word and window similar to this will appear.
- Microsoft Office Button is located in upper left corner and when you click the button, a menu will appear.
- The Quick Access Toolbar provides you with quick access to frequently used commands such as
Save,Undo, Redo etc. It can be fully customized by click on following button in toolbar area that is in red.

- The Title Bar displays the title of the document currently working on, Word names it by default to
Document1 and so on, but once you save the document it will change to whatever you saved as. - The Ribbon is located near the top of the screen and it has commands you need to format your
document. At the top of Ribbon you will find several tabs, those are related to commands shown
inside the ribbon.By changing tabs you will change the group of commands show inside.
This will be enough introduction for now, lets create our first document.
Since MS Office is already opened we will write down some text inside the text area - white area of the picture shown above.
Just write down some text in that area and save it.To save document you will have to click MS Office button.
Menu as shown on the right side will appear , click Save As and than choose Word document.
Than you will have to input file name inside the dialog box , choose format and hit Save.

You have just created your first Word document and it was saved on your Hard Drive. In next post I will show you how to do some text formatting in your doc. I hope you enjoy reading my blog.
